The AU Media Fellowship is implemented with the invaluable support of dedicated partners and stakeholders who contribute directly to its success and long-term sustainability.
The African Union acknowledges the critical role of its Member States, whose cooperation has enabled Fellows to travel across borders, engage with diverse communities, and hold direct exchanges with senior government officials and institutions.
In particular, the AU extends its appreciation to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia for their invaluable facilitation and support for the Ethiopia study tour. With their support, the fellows gained a deeper understanding of Ethiopian culture by visiting significant sites such as Unity Park and the Addis Ababa Museum. They also explored innovation and progress at the Science Museum. This comprehensive experience provided invaluable context and insights, helping them to better contextualize stories about Africa.
For the South African Study tour, the AU also recognizes and thanks the Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies of the Republic of South Africa for its valuable assistance. Their support facilitated crucial engagements with key institutions including SABC,Brand South Africa ETC.
The Fellowship is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), acting on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union (EU) Delegation to the African Union, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Their financial and technical contributions strengthen the programme’s capacity to deliver high-quality training, practical exposure, and professional development opportunities for African journalists and content creators.
